How and when did you start with Web3?
When the pandemic hit, I began exploring the world of Web3 by tuning into podcasts, which piqued my curiosity. As soon as things started to settle down, I started attending Web3 meetups and met so many interesting people working in this space. At one of these meetups, I was introduced to Impactopia (https://impactopia.earth/) – a project that I am now actively involved with.
Impactopia is a project exploring the intersection between Web3 and cooperatives, common goods, shared governance, and collective intelligence in order to drive change and build a more equitable world. Concretely, we are running a podcast series and a summit in Brussels to facilitate learning and collaboration between decentralised autonomous organisations (DAOs) and non-digital native organisations with a shared governance structure.
What do you love most about Web3?
Web3 is a dynamic space where technology merges with creativity to give rise to groundbreaking new solutions, ranging from NFTs to DAOs. Web3 empowers us to challenge conventional practices and rethink existing structures.
We’ve barely scratched the surface so its really it’s an exciting time to be part of this transformative technology.
What would you say to newbies?
The world of web 3 can be complex and intimidating at first, but it’s important to remember that you don’t have to know everything at once. Take your time and focus on one area at a time. Start by learning the basics and gradually build up your knowledge. There are plenty of resources available; from webinars to networking events.
Personally, I enjoy listening to podcasts to keep up to speed with the latest developments while I cook or do other chores.
What is one of your advice?
Embrace the challenge and watch as the dots connect themselves
A more practical tip would be to invest in a cold wallet, such as a Ledger or a Trezor, before you invest in any cryptocurrency or NFT. This will help provide secure offline storage for your assets and protects them from potential hacks or cyber attacks
What project or dapp do you follow?
It’s undeniable that artificial intelligence (AI) is one of the most talked-about topics today; and for good reason. I’m truly convinced its ability to analyse vast amounts of data and automate routine tasks, will help us unlock new levels of productivity and creativity.
For the past year, I’ve been keeping a close eye on SingularityNET, the world’s leading decentralised AI marketplace that runs on blockchain. SingularityNET is designed to facilitate the development, sharing, and monetisation of AI services, and what I find particularly compelling is its commitment to democratising AI. The platform provides an accessible space for anyone to create, share, and utilise AI services. But don’t take my word for it, do your own research!
